*Update* #LASD City of Industry Deputy Involved Shooting, 2600 Block of Pellissier Place, City Of Industry

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding a deputy-involved shooting. The incident occurred on Thursday, November 1, 2018, at approximately 3:22 a.m. on the 2600 Block of Pellissier Place, City of Industry.

Homicide detectives had learned Industry station deputy was inside the 7-11 convenience store when he heard a collision outside the business.   As the deputy walked outside, he saw that a black sedan had collided into a parked vehicle.  The deputy then saw a female exit the vehicle from the front passenger seat and began to run away quickly distancing herself. The deputy also saw a male exit the same vehicle from the driver’s seat running after the female.  During the suspect’s chase of the woman, the suspect turned his direction of travel and ran towards the deputy’s parked black and white sheriff’s department vehicle. The deputy contacted the suspect believing the suspect was going to steal the patrol vehicle when a physical altercation occurred. During the fight, the suspect grabbed the deputy’s duty weapon, and a deputy-involved shooting occurred.

The suspect was struck at least one time in the body. After being struck by gunfire, the suspect ran to the 7-11 store and into a back room where the suspect located a female employee and kept her hostage.   Assisting deputies entered the business and was in communication with the suspect and the female employee.  After some time, the suspect released the female employee uninjured, and the suspect was taken into custody with no further incident.

The suspect was transported to a local hospital for further treatment.
