SUMMARY:
On October 27, 2018 at approximately 10:56 P.M., the caretaker for a property in the 40500 block of Somerset Road found three unknown subjects inside of the owner’s residence. The subjects fled on foot into the desert as the caretaker called 9-1-1.

Deputy Nicholas McCrystal, Deputy Daniel Evans and Sergeant Darren Gilmore from the Barstow Sheriff’s Station responded to the scene. Shoe tracks were found leading from the property to an unoccupied maroon Mitsubishi convertible nearby. Through evidence located within the vehicle, the three suspects were identified as James Davis, Trenton Carrington and Crystal Pittman.

On October 28, 2018, at approximately 5:00 A.M., the three suspects were contacted in a mobile home park located in the 35400 block of National Trails Highway in Daggett. Several items belonging to the victim were located inside their residence. All three of the suspects’ shoes matched the shoe tracks on the victim’s property. Davis, Carrington, and Pittman were subsequently arrested for burglary and conspiracy to commit a crime and transported to the Barstow Jail.

During the investigation, Deputy Stacey Spurlock recognized Carrington and the vehicle from a separate theft which was reported on October 19, 2018 from a resident in the 40000 block of Tami Road in Harvard. Carrington will receive an additional charge of petty theft.
