09/01/2018 *Arrest Driving on a Suspended License
Main & 6 Mile Rd – Traffic Stop led to the discovery that driver had a suspended drivers’ license. The driver was arrested and issued citations
09/02/2018 *Arrest -Fugitive Misdemeanor Warrant
Wildwood Tr & Earhart – Traffic Stop of violator led to the discovery of a Fugitive Warrant. The driver was arrested and was to be turned over to the jurisdiction holding the warrant.
09/02/2018 * Uninsured Vehicle Impounded –Charges Requested & Issued
U.S 23 & Barker --Officers observed a Careless Driver – during the traffic stop it was discovered that the vehicle did not have insurance. Prosecutor issued misdemeanor charges against the driver for operating a motor vehicle without security.
09/04/2018 *Arrest- Fugitive Warrant
Joy Rd & Whitmore Lake Rd – Officers Responded to a Suspicious Situation call involving a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle did not have a valid license and was wanted on an outstanding warrant. The vehicle was impounded, and the subject turned over to the jurisdiction holding the warrant.
09/05/2018 *Arrest- Fugitive Warrant
Barker & Emerald Circle – Officer on patrol recognized a wanted subject. The subject was stopped, arrested and turned over to the Washtenaw County Sheriff Department as the agency holding the warrant.
09/08/2018/ *Assault & Battery
8800 Main St – Officers were called to the middle school during a basketball tournament after an out of district team became so aggressive on the court; the tournament was cancelled. Before leaving, team players further assaulted (physically) an organizer of the tournament. No charges were desired. The league will handle the situation internally.
09/12/2018 *Arrest – Operating While Intoxicated –Crash Involved
6 Mile & U.S 23 – Officers responded to a crash scene and observed an uncooperative subject walking away from the scene. The investigation determined the subject had outstanding fugitive warrants for driving offenses. The subject was arrested on the warrants and several charges were submitted to the prosecutor’s, office including obstruction of justice.
09/12/2018 *Retail Fraud
200 Block of Barker – Van’s Archery reported that a subject arrived to inquire about shooting a crossbow. While the employee was helping another customer; the subject left and the employee noticed a missing crossbow from the wall. The investigation revealed that the suspect appears to be involved in similar incidents at other sporting retail shops. The case remains under investigation.
09/12/2018 *Arrest 2 for Larceny (Stolen Property without Force)
6800 Block of Spencer – Victim reported that between 7:30 am -5:30 pm, suspects entered his property, disabled his video cameras and stole scrap metal, air conditioners and generators. The investigation led to evidence, the vehicle involved and the identification of three suspects. An officer on patrol observed the vehicle and located two of the suspects. During a search of the suspects, one was found to be in possession of suspected narcotics and paraphernalia. The prosecutor issued charges for this suspect- 1 count for Possession of narcotics & 1 count felony for Receiving and Concealing Stolen Property. The case remains under investigation.
09/13/2018 *Larceny (Theft) of Generator
600 Block of 6 Mile – Victim reported a generator was taken from his driveway between September 10 & September 13. The investigation revealed the victims’ property had been pawned. The property was recovered and was to be returned to owner. The case remains under investigation.
09/16/2018 *Embezzlement
9500 Block of Main St –Polly’s Market reported that an employee had been caught attempting to hide several packs of cigarettes in her personal bag before leaving work. Charges have been forwarded to the prosecutor for review. The employee was issued a Trespass Warning for the property.
09/17/2018 *Attempt Larceny (Theft) from Auto
8700 Block of Nollar – Complainant reported that unknown subjects entered an unlocked vehicle, but it did not appear that anything was missing.
09/17/2018 *Larceny (Theft) from Auto
1400 Block of 7 Mile Rd- Victim reported that sometime between September 16 at 6pm and September 17 at 6 am, unknown suspected entered his unlocked garage and removed Tool boxes, and Tools (power & hand) from their vehicle. No leads, witnesses or suspects but the the case remains under investigation.
09/17/2018 *Larceny (Theft) from Auto
9300 Block of Main Street –The Victim reported that sometime between September 16 at 9pm and September 17 at 5 am, unknown suspects removed Power Tool Set, hand tools, and recreational equipment (Golf Clubs & Fishing Pole). The case remains under investigation.
09/17/2018 *Larceny (Theft) from Auto
1400 Block of 7 Mile Rd – Sometime between September 16 at 8pm & September 17 approximately 6:30 am - unknown subjects entered victims’ unlocked vehicles and took several tools (hand & power). No suspects, No witnesses – but the case remains under investigation.
09/18/2018 *Larceny (Theft) of Suitcase
US 23 Rest Area-Victim reported that at approximately 5:50 pm he accidently left his suitcase unattended and outside of his vehicle for approximately 5 minutes. Upon return to his vehicle, the victim discovered it missing. No witnesses or evidence at the time of the report.
09/19/2018 *Operating While Intoxicated – Crash Involved
50 Block of Barker – Officers responded to an unknown incident and determined a crash had occurred and a possible witness was talking to the at fault driver. The investigation led to an arrest, search warrant for blood and Operating while Intoxicated Charge forwarded to the prosecutor’s office.
09/19/2018 *Filing a False Police Report – Possible Swatting Incident
Northfield Twp Police Department– An Officer received an unusual call suggesting a serious felonious incident had just occurred. A quick cursory investigation by receiving Officer determined that the call appeared non-legitimate. The residence and all occupants were determined to be safe. The incident may have started from a computer hacking group. The case remains under investigation.
09/19/2018 * Malicious Destruction of Property/ Larceny (Theft) from Auto
9300 Block of Main St –The victim reported that sometime between 12:45 am & 1:45am unknown suspect damaged victims’ vehicle handle and lock and took a generator, chainsaw and power tools from the vehicle’s bed. The case remains under investigation.
09/20/2018 *Larceny of Generator
9500 Block of Main St- Victim reported that sometime between September 19 at 6pm and September 20 at 9:20pm, Unknown subjects entered victim’s unlocked vehicle and removed a generator. No suspects or witnesses at the time of the report.
09/20/2018 *Attempt Larceny (Theft) from Boat
9500 Block of Main St- Officers received a report of electronic property sitting outside of a boat. During the investigation it was determined that the owner of the boat identified the property and stated that it had been removed from his boat sometime between September 19 at 6 pm and September 20 at 7 am. No other property appeared to be missing. The property was returned to owner. The case remains under investigation.
09/21/2018 *B&E Storage Lot
6400 Block of Whitmore Lake – Complainant reported that sometime during the evening hours of September 20 or the early morning hours of September 21 unknown suspect(s) cut a padlock, entered the property and removed a utility trailer. Evidence was obtained and the case remains under investigation.
BEWARE of a NEW FRAUD: --Recently an Officer took a report of a Victim who was contacted by a Remote Computer Service (representing themselves as a company she uses). They advised the victim that she was due a rebate- after claiming to have sent her extra money, they convinced her to let them access her computer remotely – this fraudulent company then captured her account information and stole money from her bank account.
