Election Day Reminders
Tomorrow is Election Day, here are a few thing to consider:
Farmington residents will be asked to vote on a millage proposal allowing City Council to levy up to an additional 3.0 mills in property taxes for Capital Improvements and General Operations. The levy would expire in 10 years. For more detailed information visit www.farmgov.com/millage
The Farmington Public Safety Department would like to remind residents that Michigan Election Law requires local law enforcement to investigate allegations involving criminal violations of election laws. Examples of an election law violation include:
• Campaigning within 100 feet off a polling place
• Challenges to voters’ qualifications for the purpose of annoyance or delay
• Improper influence/menacing conduct
• Impersonating a voter or assuming a fictitious name to vote
• Impersonating an election official
Please remember to be kind to your poll workers who are putting in long hours to ensure a smooth and efficient Election Day.
