Rosenberg Police wants you to “Beard It Up”
Rosenberg Police Chief Jonathan White is inviting the public to join the Rosenberg Police Team as they “Beard It Up” for Pediatric Cancer Research. For the month of November (No-Shave November), Chief White has authorized police employees to extend their facial hair past the ¼” maximum length which is normally allowed.
Now Chief White is asking for your help and support by joining the Rosenberg Police Team and donating to the cause. According to The Cure Starts Now, they focus on the homerun cure to all cancers by concentrating their research funding efforts on one of the deadliest forms of cancer, Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). 1 in 330 children in the U.S. will develop cancer by age 20 and on average, 15,500 children are diagnosed with cancer each year. All donations are tax deductible in accordance with IRS regulations.
The Rosenberg Police Department along with the Rosenberg Police Officers Association will hold a contest for best beard. The contest is open to all citizens who donate under the Rosenberg Police Team and submit their photos by December 26th, 2018. The contest will take place on December 28th, 2018. Information about submitting your photos will be released at www.rosenbergtx.gov/bearditup in the near future.
