NOTICE TO BOIL WATER
ROCKWELL UTILITIES

To: All Rockwell Utilities Customers:

Due to an overnight power surge at the water supply plant, the pumping system supplying water to your homes was required to be reset, which caused a temporary loss of pressure in the system. The pumping system has been reset and pressure is being restored, however it will take several hours for pressure to be fully restored.

As a safety precaution, a boil water order has been issued.
All Rockwell customers should bring their water to a rolling boil for 5 minutes before using water for drinking or cooking. Water is OK for bathing, washing and other common uses. This boil water order is being issued in accordance with Illinois EPA regulations. Anytime water pressure drops below 20 pounds per square inch in any part of a community’s distribution system, a boil order must be issued as a precaution to protect customers.
Although the Rockwell Utilities water supply system is protected against loss of power through an emergency backup power system, the system is designed to shut down temporarily in the case of other types of electrical issues outside of our control to avoid permanent damage to the pumps and controls which could result in a longer-term water outage.
We appreciate your patience as we resolve this issue, and we will notify our customers when this Boil Order is no longer required, but we expect this boil order to be in effect until sometime on Tuesday. Updated information will also be provided at www.rockwellutilities.com. Thank you.
