Fatal Traffic Collision on Watsonville Road


On November 9th, at approximately 3:45 pm, a solo vehicle collision occurred in the area of Watsonville Road and Venetian Way, resulting in a fatality.

When Morgan Hill Police Officers arrived on scene, a vehicle was located on the north sidewalk with major front-end damage. Two occupants were located inside the vehicle, and both appeared to have significant injuries and were unresponsive. Morgan Hill Police Officers along with members of the Morgan Hill Fire Department began rescue efforts.

The driver and the passenger, both Gilroy residents, were transported to a local trauma center where the passenger was pronounced deceased upon arrival. The driver of the vehicle is listed in critical condition.

Members of the MHPD Traffic Unit responded to the collision and are investigating the collision. Prior to the collision, the vehicle was observed traveling eastbound Watsonville Road, then drifted across the westbound lanes of traffic and collided with a tree.
