On November 9th, at approximately 8:08 pm, a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian occurred in the area of Watsonville Road and Venetian Way, resulting in a fatality. This was the second tragic fatal collision to occur on Watsonville Rd during the same day.

Morgan Hill Police Officers were dispatched to the area of Watsonville Rd and Venetian Way on a report of a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival, Officers located the involved vehicle and a unresponsive female pedestrian in the roadway with significant injuries. Morgan Hill Police Officers along with members of the Morgan Hill Fire Department quickly arrived on-scene and began life-saving efforts.

Members of the MHPD Traffic Unit responded to the collision and are investigating the collision. Prior to the collision, the female pedestrian was observed crossing northbound on Watsonville Rd near Venetian Way and was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound on Watsonville Rd. Witnesses at the scene were contacted and corroborated the information given by the driver.

The pedestrian, a 71 year-old Morgan Hill resident, was transported to a local trauma center where she was pronounced deceased upon arrival. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was cooperative with the police investigation. The identity of the of the pedestrian is being witheld until notification of the family is completed by the County Coroner’s Office.
