Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that deputies of the Cass County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a personal injury traffic crash on US 12 Hwy east of S. River Rd. in Cass County's Porter Township. This crash occurred on 11-14-18 at approximately 0540. The investigation of the crash showed that a vehicle driven by David Wolfe (56 yrs from Jones, MI) had just struck a deer in the roadway when he was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Holden Beach (32 yrs of Edwardsburg, MI). Mr. Beach was injured in the crash and was transported to Three Rivers Hospital via LifeCare Ambulance. Mr. Wolfe was not injured. Seatbelts were worn by both drivers and alcohol was not a factor in the crash. Assisting on scene were LifeCare Ambulance and the St. Joseph County Sheriff's Office. The crash remains under investigation.
