BECOME A PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICE POLICE/FIRE: Looking for a career in law enforcement or a change in your current situation? We have at least one more position to fill due to a new opening this week. Our department covers a vast array of opportunities including patrol, criminal investigations, SWAT, school resource officers, K-9, bike patrol, community resource officers, fire and more. We hire and put new recruits on payroll during the academy. We also consider experience for starting pay amounts. Starting pay is anywhere between $45,76- - $51,418 depending on qualifications. This is also independent of our fire pay, which adds another $2.16 - $5.00 hr. Our health benefits are unmatched. Currently we have full employee city-paid coverage for the employee and up to a total of $999 towards additional benefits for family, independents, etc. (For most of us that means your children have the majority of their coverage paid as well depending on what options you choose.) We also offer retention and education pay as well as cost of living and pay-per-performance evaluations throughout your career.
