Full Notification

Starting in December 2018, WMTPD will discontinue using NIXLE to send text messages to cellular phones for ADVISORY and COMMUNITY notifications (non-life threatening). This is due to new costs and restrictions put in place by Nixle.

Some of you may have opted out of these types of messages during sign-up. If not, you will no longer receive Nixle texts or e-mails when we send notifications for road closings, vehicle crashes, crime trends, or community events.

We will continue to post these notifications along with the high priority ALERTS on our social media pages. If these notifications are important to you and you don't want to miss the information we disseminate, be sure to LIKE us on Facebook at facebook.com/wmtpd or Follow us on Twitter @WMTPD.

We will continue to use Nixle text messaging for ALERTs (critical notifications). This includes notifications for dangerous or life threatening situations such as a missing/endangered person, shelter in place warnings, active shooter, natural disaster, etc.

Disclaimer: Transmissions are dependent upon by staffing levels and other priorities at the time of an event, therefore we cannot guarantee a notification in every situation.
