Advisory

Weather May Cause Cancellation of Tree Lighting

Due to expected inclement weather conditions expected on Friday, November 23, 2018, the Danville Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Danville may cancel the annual Lighting of the Old Oak Tree. Current weather forecasts are calling for continued rain through the day on Friday.  If the event is still held, it will take place on Diablo Rd near the Old Oak Tree beginning at 5:15 p.m.

In the meantime, the Town and Chamber will monitor the weather conditions, and if it is necessary may cancel the event. A decision on whether or not the event will be held will be made at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, November 23, 2018. The information will be shared on all Danville social media and via press release. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we wait to see what the weather holds.

Whether the event is cancelled or not, local merchants will be open and the community is encouraged to come downtown, enjoy the Town’s great restaurants, and visit our local shops.
