Dear Cushing Pride Volunteer, This coming Saturday (Dec 1st) will be Cushing Pride's last event of the year. As I wrote to you earlier, we will be meeting in a joint venture with residents of Oak Grove at Oak Grove Baptist Church in what we are calling a "90 Minute Dash For Trash". Originally the time was set for noon until 1:30 but it was just brought to my attention that the "BIG 12" football championship game is that day starting at 11:00. We want to get this final cleaning on Saturday so we have moved the time frame up to 9:00 - 10:30. We will meet in the parking lot of Oak Grove Baptist church located on Hwy 33 at Oak Grove Rd. We will hand out pick up sticks, vests, gloves, and trash bags and then get on a bus or van that will drop groups of you on Hwy 33. All full bags of trash are to be left at the edge of the road for easy pick up from our team. We will start picking up groups and returning them to the church starting at 10:00 so that we are finished by 10:30 and plenty of time to watch the game. Please find the pride in each one of you to get up early and support this worthy cause. Be aware while cleaning that as you walk you will find some areas cleaner than others due to residents in the area cleaning up, but there is still too much trash blowing in the winds.
