Rutgers Recreation will be hosting the annual Big Chill - Rutgers 5k run/walk on Saturday December 1st on the College Avenue Campus in New Brunswick. Due to this event, there will be numerous road closures in place beginning at 07:30AM and ending around 12:00PM. Parking restrictions will be posted along the route.
The following closures will be in place (no on-street parking will be permitted along these closures):
Beginning at 07:30AM
o College Avenue between Senior Street and Bartlett Street
Beginning at 09:30AM
o College Avenue between George St. Extension and Somerset St.
o Somerset Street between College Avenue and George Street
o George Street between Somerset Street and Huntington Street
o Huntington Street between George Street and College Avenue
o Wyckoff Street between Buccleuch Park and Richardson Street
o Richardson Street between Wyckoff Street and Sicard Street
o Sicard Street between Richardson Street and Stone Street
o Stone Street between Sicard Street and College Avenue
o Route 18 North ramp to George Street (By Honors College & the River Dorms)
o Route 18 South ramp to George Street/Huntington Street
o The roadways within Buccleuch Park
Due to these closures, some adjacent areas and streets, while not closed or having parking restrictions, will be unreachable or will not have means to leave the area. Closures for the race will be lifted systematically once participants have cleared the given area of the course.
Residents and participants in the event are advised to be mindful of the above closures and parking restrictions and to plan ahead and leave extra travel time.
