Press Release: Motor vehicle stop leads to arrest of three occupants for possession of controlled dangerous substances

NARRATIVE:
On November 27, 2018 at approximately 11:10pm Ptl Jeff Kless was on routine patrol in the Borough of Deal when he observed a vehicle commit a motor vehicle violation on Ocean Ave. Ptl Kless conducted a motor vehicle stop of the accused vehicle on Ocean Ave in the City of Long Branch. Further investigation conducted by the officers involved revealed the accused subjects to be in possession of controlled dangerous substances, hypodermic needles and drug paraphernalia.
All three subjects were transported to Deal Police Headquarters for processing and charging in accordance with bail reform guidelines. All three subjects were charged with possession of CDS cocaine, possession of CDS heroine, 2 counts of possession of CDS paraphernalia, possession of hypodermic needles and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle. Ferguson was further charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving, failure to maintain lane, unclear plates and maintenance of lamps. Ferguson was released on a criminal summons to a responsible sober adult. Sherbine was released on a criminal summons pending a court date. DaSilva-Albano was committed to Monmouth County Jail pending a court date.
