Police Blotter November 26th to December 3rd

November 26th:

Auto Burglary - Eastshore Blvd. / Potrero Ave:
At 10:13 am, an officer responded to the report of seven burglarized vehicles. The vehicles were parked in a parking lot which was fenced off. The time frame appears to be in the previous 12 hours.

Auto Burglary (Auto) Fairmount Ave. / Richmond St:
At 10:00 am, an officer responded to the report of a vehicle being burglarized in between 11:30 pm hours and 9:30 am. An unidentified suspect broke a window and stole property.

Auto Burglary – 8000 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 7:12 pm, an officer responded to the report of a vehicle burglary that occurred sometime between 6:30 pm and 7:15 pm. An unidentified suspect broke a window and stole property.

Battery – 1200 block of Brighton:
At 7:47 pm, an officer responded to a complaint from a 17-year-old male that said an adult had choked him during a sporting event. An altercation ensued between two players from opposing teams and an adult male allegedly put the victim in a chokehold while trying to separate the two players.

Shoplifting – 670 El Cerrito Plaza (CVS):
At 10:13 pm, an officer reports a 49-year-old male from San Francisco entered CVS, stole approximately $133 worth of toothpaste, and left the store without paying. The male was located in the parking lot of Barnes and Noble and arrested. He was transported to the ECPD, booked, and then released on a citation.

Warrant Arrest – 6009 Potrero Ave (Parking lot of Mira Vista Hotel):
At 11:15 pm, an officer stopped a car for expired registration. The driver, a 33-year-old male from Livermore, was found to have a $20,000 misdemeanor warrant. The male was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility and booked.

November 27th:

DUI – San Pablo Ave / Cutting Blvd:
At 2:32 am, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and subsequently arrested a 30-year-old male from Fresno for suspicion of DUI. The male was booked at ECPD and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant Arrest – 10100 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 10:43 am, an officer was dispatched to a business regarding a person camped out in the parking lot. While speaking with the 43-year-old man, the officer discovered he had a warrant for his arrest. The man was arrested, booked and released on a citation.

Methamphetamine Pipe 11785 San Pablo Ave:
At 1:53 pm, an officer responded to the report of a suspicious person flinging a knife around inside of Launderland. Officers spoke with the 40-year-old Richmond man and discovered he was a registered sex offender and on probation for other crimes. The officer located a methamphetamine pipe in his possession. He was arrested, booked and released on a citation.

November 28th

DUI – MacDonald Ave / San Pablo Ave:
At 1:21 am, an officer stopped a vehicle and arrested a 24-year-old female from Richmond for DUI. The female was transported to the ECPD for booking and later to the hospital due to her level of intoxication. The female was issued a citation and released while still in the hospital.

Battery, Vandalism and Restraining Order Violation – 800 block of Pomona Ave:
At 4:14 am, officers responded to a disturbance involving a 32-year-old male from El Cerrito who got into an argument with family members after he was told to quiet down. The male pushed a female and scratched another female on the arm. The male also kicked the front door causing damage. The male fled the area on foot before police arrival.

Commercial Burglary - 5040 EC Plaza:
At 10:16 am, an officer responded to the report of a commercial burglary. At 7:06 am, an unidentified suspect entered the store triggering the door alarm sensor. Once inside, the suspect unlocked the cash register and stole approx. $350.00. There were no signs of forced entry.

Petty Theft – 2600 block of Yuba St:
At 5:35 pm, an officer responded to the report of two packages stolen from the front porch of the victim’s home. The theft occurred between 12:45 and 2:30 pm.

Battery – Central Ave / Carlson Blvd:
At 8:53 pm, an officer reported a 24-year-old male victim was punched in the face by an unknown adult male suspect. The victim said he yelled at the suspect for stopping in the crosswalk and then hit the suspect’s hood with his hand. The vehicle began to follow the victim, and the suspect confronted him near the intersection. The driver challenged the victim and then punched the victim twice in the face.

Domestic Violence Restraining Order Violation – S. 56th St / Cypress Ave:
At 10:53 pm, an officer located a 37-year-old male from El Cerrito who was wanted for a Domestic Violence Restraining Order Violation. The male was transported to the ECPD for booking and then to the Martinez Detention Facility.

November 29th

Shoplifting – Parking lot of 225 El Cerrito Plaza (Trader Joe’s):
At 9:31 pm, an officer responded to a report a vehicle which was broken into by an unknown male. The victim’s 27-year-old daughter was seated inside the vehicle when the male suspect broke the rear side window stealing the victim’s property. The suspect fled the area on foot.

Warrant – San Pablo Ave / Cutting Blvd:
At 11:02 am, an officer conducted an enforcement stop on a vehicle and arrested a 48-year-old male from Sacramento on an outstanding warrant for DUI. The male was booked at ECPD and released on a citation.

November 30th

Warrant – Sutter / San Pablo Ave:
At 1:59 am, an officer conducted an enforcement stop and arrested a 53-year-old male from Richmond on two outstanding misdemeanor warrants. The male was booked at the ECPD and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Nov. 30

Package Theft – 6400 block of Schmidt Lane:
At 2:40 pm, an officer reports two adult males were seen by the property manager taking packages from a porch.

Dec. 1

Warrant Arrest – 6400 block of Cutting Blvd:
At 10:18 pm, an officer contacted a 23-year-old female during a pedestrian stop and learned she had a warrant for her arrest. The woman was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Possession of Controlled Substance – San Pablo Ave / Hill St:
At 1:58 am, an officer contacted a 47-year-old male during a traffic stop and determined the man was in possession of a controlled substance. The man was later released from the El Cerrito Police Department with a citation.

Dec. 2

Warrant Arrest – 6500 block of Gladys Ave:
At 11:02 pm, an officer responded to a call of an unwanted person loitering in the area. An officer located a 25-year-old male who had a warrant for his arrest. The man was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Dec. 3

Auto Burglary – Moeser Ln / Pomona Ave:
At 7:40 pm, an officer responded to a call of an auto burglary and learned the window of the victim’s vehicle had been broken and property was removed from inside. The stolen property was located outside of the vehicle, and no loss was reported.

Criminal Threats – 11400 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 11:12 pm, an officer contacted the manager of a business who had received text messages where he was threatened with physical violence.

Warrant Arrest – 11400 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 12:32 am, an officer contacted a 37-year-old male and learned the man had three warrants for his arrest. The man was later transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
