Whitehall & Granville PD join "Facial Hair Forces" to benefit Toys for Tots, and the toys are coming this Sunday!
As announced previously in November, the members of the Whitehall & Granville Police Departments joined "facial hair forces" for the last month, donating to skip out on shaving for a bit!
It's hard to believe that some cheesy mustaches could have any benefit other than a few strange looks and a laugh, but... The members joint fundraising effort raised over $300.00 from member donations, all which went to purchase new, unwrapped toys for the Capital Region Toys for Tots program!
Much thanks to Chief Bassett for permitting us to give the razors a month off and helping us to support a program that brings so much joy to so many little ones who count on it!
The Toys will be rolling in to Whitehall this Sunday (December 9th) following being picked up at the Washington County Municipal Center where the Capital Region Toys for Tots and Northern NY Sheriff's Toys for Tots Coalition (including Washington County Sheriff Jeff Murphy and his team!), will have guided them too. Santa will be traveling north on the Amtrak train to Whitehall and firefighters from the Whitehall Volunteer Fire Company and officers of the Whitehall Police Department will also be traveling north along Route 4 loaded up with gifts headed for Whitehall, having picked up this year’s precious bundles in Fort Edward from the Sheriff's Coalition set up at the County Municipal Center.
Santa is scheduled to disembark the train in Whitehall at 12:47 PM this Sunday to kick off the Toys for Tots program in Whitehall. We hope to see many of you there to meet Santa!
