Flood Warning until 12:00AM Wednesday
A river flood warning remains in effect for the San Bernard River. The Flood Warning continues for The San Bernard River Near East Bernard
* from Sunday afternoon to late Tuesday night...or until the warning is canceled.
* At 0800 PM Saturday the stage was 15.7 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by tomorrow early afternoon and continue to rise to near 17.8 feet by Monday early afternoon. The river will fall below flood stage by Tuesday early afternoon.
* At 17.0 feet...Minor lowland flooding begins in the vicinity of the gage with minor roads along the river inundated. Backwater flooding up Britt Branch and Bratcher Slough begins.
* AFFECTED AREAS: FORT BEND, TX ... AUSTIN, TX ... WHARTON, TX ... COLORADO, TX
Instructions:
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Persons are urged to stay away from the river until water levels recede. Motorists should avoid any water covered roads and find an alternate route. Livestock and equipment should remain out of the flood plain for the next few days. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather radio or other news sources for further updates.
