Fatal traffic collision on US Highway 395 near Luna Road

SUMMARY:
On Monday, December 10, 2018, at approximately 6:59 pm, deputies from the Victorville Station, and rescue personnel from the San Bernardino County Fire Department and American Medical Response, responded to a multi vehicle and vehicle vs pedestrian traffic collision near the intersection of US Highway 395 and Luna Road in the City of Victorville. Upon arrival, deputies determined that a black passenger vehicle was driving south on US Highway 395. The car struck a pedestrian crossing US Highway 395 in its path, then struck another vehicle driving north on US Highway 395. A white passenger vehicle driving south on US Highway 395 behind the black car also struck the pedestrian.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel.
Deputies are investigating the cause of the collision. US Highway 395 between Luna Road and Bear Valley Rd was closed for several hours for the investigation.
