PG & E WORKER SCAM - scam entails suspects posing as PG&E Employee’s coming to your door to create a distraction.

FAKE PG&E WORKER, BEWARE

As seen on News24/680 (https://news24-680.com/2018/12/11/police-investigating-reported-burglary-in-orinda-downs-tuesday/) people are becoming more creative to make you a victim and get inside your home. The new scam entails suspects posing as PG&E Employee’s coming to your door to create a distraction as someone else enters into your home. The fast talker at the door keeps you occupied while someone enters your house (possibly through the back door) and has time to look inside your house for quick cash valuables (IE: Jewelry, small electronics and other valuable things).

Please be vigilant about any unsolicited work regardless of it being at your home, on your computer, via email and or telephone line. Please contact Lafayette Police with any unsolicited visitors contacting you so we can ensure a safe community for our neighbors.

TIP:
Get a good physically description of the people, vehicle and other information to provide to Police .

Do not open your door for uninvited/ unsolicited guests. Please call Lafayette Police to confirm their intentions.
Please keep doors locked.
