Homicide suspect surrenders to Wilmington Police 
On Tuesday, December 11, Shyheim Warren, 24, of Wilmington, surrendered to Wilmington Police for the murder of Tynesia Cephas, which occurred in the 900 block of Kirkwood Street on April 26, 2017.
Over the course of 17 months, detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division worked diligently to find her killer.
Through investigative measures, detectives were able to develop Warren as the suspect in the murder. Working in collaboration with the Attorney General’s Office he was indicted on September 11, 2018.
On December 7, 2018, after exhausting every lead in finding Warren, detectives reached out to the news media asking the public for help in the whereabouts of Warren.
On Tuesday, December 11, at approximately 7:00 pm, Shyheim Warren turned himself in to detectives.
He was charged with the following offenses:
- Murder 2nd Degree;
- Two Counts: Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony;
- Reckless Endangering 1st Degree.
