Press Release: Deal Police Department extends Shared Service Agreement
DATE: 12-14-18
SUBJECT: Deal Police Department extends Shared Service Agreement
The Deal Police Department was one of the first police agencies in the state to establish a shared service agreement with another municipality. We began providing police services to the Borough of Interlaken in 2010 and that was shortly followed by the Village of Loch Arbour in 2011. Each municipality agreed to an initial contract period of ten years. During this time the members of the Deal Police have become a part of the Interlaken and Loch Arbour communities.
Chief Ronen Neuman and elected officials from the Borough of Deal and the Village of Loch Arbour recently re-negotiated the terms of our shared service agreement which has allowed for an extension of an additional ten years. This means that the Deal Police Department will be providing police services to the Village of Loch Arbour until at least the year 2030.
The shared service agreements that we have in place benefit the taxpayers of both Deal and Loch Arbour. The agreements are also a testament to the hard work and dedication of our officers. We are proud to be one of the first agencies to establish a shared service agreement and look forward to continuing to provide our professional services to the residents of Deal, Interlaken and Loch Arbour.
