On Friday, November 23, 2018, at 5:30 P.M. in Sun Valley, a witness observed a black sports utility vehicle traveling southbound Laurel Canyon Boulevard south of Peoria Street. The vehicle collided with a pedestrian crossing eastbound Laurel Canyon Boulevard. The driver failed to stop to render aid and/or identify self and fled the scene negotiating a right turn into the Kohl’s parking lot and fled the scene. The pedestrian sustained severe injuries and was transported to the hospital where he later died from the injuries.
