Flood Advisory until 08:15PM
The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a
* Flood Advisory for... Brown County in south central Indiana... Bartholomew County in central Indiana...
* Until 815 PM EST.
* At 421 PM EST, Doppler radar indicated that 1 to 1.5 inches of rain that had fallen since early this morning was causing minor flooding in the advisory area. The North Fork of Salt Creek near Nashville had risen into flood with high water likely on several roads in the area.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Columbus, Nashville, Edinburgh, Hope, Princes Lakes, Elizabethtown, Hartsville, Clifford, Peoga, Newbern, Helmsburg, Waymansville, Beanblossom, Gnaw Bone, Grammer, Spurgeons Corner, Yellowwood Lake, Azalia, Spearsville and Elkinsville.
* AFFECTED AREAS: BARTHOLOMEW, IN ... BROWN, IN
Instructions:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route. A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
