Suspect arrested for attempted murder at Analy High School
On 12/20/18, at approximately 1001 hours, Officers from the Sebastopol Police Department responded to a parking lot at Analy High School on an initial report of hit and run involving a pedestrian.
Upon arrival, Officers made contact with the suspect driver, a 17 year old female, and victim, a 17 year old male. Their investigation, including statements from witnesses, revealed that the driver had in fact deliberately drove her vehicle at the victim, striking him, and then attempted to leave the scene.
Investigators reviewed video surveillance footage of the actual incident. A review of the footage showed that the suspect quickly backed her vehicle out of a parking space as the victim was walking nearby in the lot. The suspect then accelerated her vehicle directly toward the victim, slowing momentarily before accelerating again while steering toward him and deliberately striking him. After being struck by the vehicle, the victim fell to the ground in front of the vehicle. The suspect then drove her vehicle over the victim's body and accelerated away. The victim sustained non life threatening injuries.
The suspect and victim were previously in a dating relationship. No known or suspected threats to the safety of the school exist as a result of this incident.
The suspect was arrested and booked at the Sonoma County Juvenile Detention Facility for attempted murder and domestic battery with injury. The identities of the involved parties will not be released due to their ages.
