Suffolk County Police last night arrested a man for driving while ability impaired following a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian in North Babylon last night.
Eddy St. Louis was driving a 2015 Mercedes Benz southbound on Deer Park Avenue when he struck a pedestrian, Anthony Cappa at approximately 8:25 p.m. Cappa, 46, of Kime Avenue, North Babylon was transported to Good Samaritan Medical Center in West Islip where he was pronounced dead. St. Louis was not injured.
St. Louis, 41, of Spangle Drive, North Babylon, was arrested and charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Alcohol. He is being held overnight at the First Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on December 22.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
