SUSPECTS BREAK INTO WEST COVINA HOME CLAIMING TO BE POLICE OFFICERS
DATE OF RELEASE: December 27, 2018
On 12/27/18 at approximately 4:00 am at least three suspects forced their way into a home on the 2200 block of Pacific Park Way in the City of West Covina. There were multiple occupants inside the home, including children. The suspects yelled “police” and “search warrant” as they entered the home. The occupants were astute enough to realize it was not the police and called 911. Officers arrived on scene in less than three minutes but the suspects fled in what is believed to be a 4 door dark sedan before the officers arrived. The suspects stole a television prior to fleeing the scene. No one was injured during the incident.
The suspects appear to be young males. No weapons were seen but West Covina Police want to warn the public that these types of suspects could be armed. West Covina Police are asking residents to be vigilant and they should call 911 on any suspicious people or activity, particularly if people are forcing entry into their home claiming to be police officers.
West Covina Police are releasing video of the suspects and ask anyone with information regarding the crime to call (626) 939-8688.
News Release issued by Lieutenant Travis Tibbetts, PIO. For more information, call 626 939-8685 or 626 824-3781 (cell).
