SUSPECT #1: Trevor Dale Dennis Daniel, 45-year-old Milpitas transient
The Milpitas Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit conducts frequent checks of the registered sex offenders, in the City of Milpitas, to ensure compliance with their registration requirements. During one of the compliance checks, detectives discovered a 45-year-old transient, Trevor Daniel, was out of compliance and had not registered as a transient sex offender. The detectives shared this information with uniformed patrol officers.
On December 13, 2018, at 11:27 P.M. an officer, who recognized Daniel from previous contacts, saw him sitting on a bench at the 301 block of Ranch Drive. Daniel attempted to walk away, but he was quickly taken into custody for failing to maintain current registration as a sex offender. After the arrest, an officer located suspected methamphetamine in his pants pocket.
Daniel was booked into the Santa Clara County main jail for failing to register as a sex offender and possession of methamphetamine.
