On 12/12/2018, Folsom Police took a report of burglary to a vehicle in the 1400 block of Strabane Way. There were initially no investigative leads; however, on 12/15/18 at about 10:00am, the residents discovered they had surveillance footage of an unknown black male subject entering their back yard, and checking the handle on the side garage door to see if it was unlocked. The residents provided the surveillance to the Folsom Police Department to review.
Earlier on 12/15/18 at about 4:00am, Folsom Police responded to the 500 block of Heiler Way for the report of a man pulling on car door handles. Peter Nnedum was contacted as he ran across the front lawn of a home in the area. Nnedum initially gave a false name to officers, but eventually admitted he had pulled on a car door handle, and was subsequently arrested for prowling and providing a false name to the arresting officer.
Through investigative leads and careful review of the surveillance footage provided, Nnedum was identified as the male responsible for the burglary on Strabane Way, and was currently out on bail, for similar charges, out of Placer County.
On 12/28/18, Folsom Police Detectives executed a search warrant and arrested Peter Nnedum for the attempted burglary on Strabane Way. An investigation is ongoing to determine if Nnedum is connected to other burglaries in the region.
Although these types of burglaries are not a common occurrence in the community of Folsom, it reminds us to be diligent about locking the doors to our residences and vehicles, and removing valuables from vehicles.
