Flood Warning in effect for Habersham & Rabun Counties area thru 06:30 on Saturday 12/29/2018.
Description: The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has extended
the
Flood Warning for,
Habersham County in northeastern Georgia,
Rabun County in northeastern Georgia,
Until 6:30AM EST Saturday.
At 12:03AM EST, Stream levels remain elevated and some remain
above flood stage .
The river gauge on the Soque River near
Clarkesville is still around a foot above flood stage and is
currently falling.
Some locations that will experience flooding include,
Clayton, Clarkesville, Demorest, Mountain City, Tiger, Dillard, Sky
Valley, Tallulah Falls, Lake Rabun and Lake Burton.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS,
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Only when it is safe to do so, please report floodwaters or
landslides flowing over roads or threatening property to the National
Weather Service by calling toll-free, 1, 8002 6 7, 8 1 0 1, by
posting on our Facebook page, or via Twitter using hashtag NWSGSP.
