A report from a resident early this morning (12/31/18) resulted in the arrest of two men for theft crimes in a Folsom neighborhood. The report of a suspicious vehicle, where the caller believed the men were casing his neighbors house, turned out to be correct when responding officers discovered the car was stolen. Officers detained a man and woman in the car. As officers serached for another man, who had been walking in the neighborhood, another resident was alerted by her doorbell camera that a man was crouched down, hiding as the officers searched. She called police immediately to report what she saw.
Officers located Shane Stephen Allen, 37, of Carminchael, and determined he had stolen property from an unlocked vehicle and was prowling in the neighborhood. Officers arrested him, as well as Jaswinder Mitchell Singh, 28, of Sacramento, who was in the stolen vehicle. A 28 year old female was also located in the vehicle, but was not arrested.
Officers booked Allen for vehicle theft, prowling, theft and possession of the identifying information of another person. Officers booked Singh for violation of probation and vehicle theft. Both men were booked into the Sacramento County Jail. Booking photos of both men are attached.
