LAKE LURE POLICE OFFICER ALAN GREENE RETIRES

Lake Lure Police Officer Alan Greene retires after 26 years in law enforcement.  Officer Greene worked for Rutherford County Sheriff's Department before coming to Lake Lure in September of 2016. 

Working for 24 years with Rutherford County Sheriff's Department, Greene worked the Interdiction Team before serving as School Resource Officer.  When Greene joined Lake Lure he was quick to begin using his knowledge and received a Distinquished Service Award for several drug cases.

Greene acknowledges that by far the best supervisor he's ever had was Lake Lure Sergeant Glen Gittens who gave him great guidence while at Lake Lure.  When asked what he will remember greatest about Lake Lure, Greene stated, the appreciation shown from the people who I got to help.  "It's great to have someone just tell you they appreciate you for helping them." Greene remarked

At a recent private retirement party, Chief Sean Humphries presented the Dr. Suess book "Oh, the Places You'll Go" with remarks and signnatures from his fellow employees.  Greene will also receive his service weapon and badge as a gift from the Town of Lake Lure.

Greene looks forward to just relaxing with his family.

The Lake Lure Police Department wishes him well and appreciates him for the time and service he's given.
