In the last 24 hours, Hempstead crested at 47.32 feet. We should see a crest in Simonton sometime late this evening. The Emergency Operations team and City Staff are continuing to monitor river levels as well as the water levels in the ditches and channels.  Overall we have observed that the internal drainage system in Valley Lodge has room for water that may come in between now and the time the river crests locally. High River levels are expected to be visible over the next week or more. We are receiving extraordinary support from Fort Bend County Road and Bridge and Fort Bend County Office of Emergency Management. The City will notify residents with updates as necessary.
