Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau Detectives are continuing to assist Azusa PD with the investigation of a shooting death of one male adult and one male juvenile. The incident occurred on Tuesday January 8, 2019, at approximately 10:12 p.m., on the 600 block of East 6th Street, Azusa.
Detectives have learned that officers from Azusa Police Department received a call of a gunshot victim at the above location.
Upon arrival, officers located three gunshot victims. One male adult and one male juvenile were pronounced dead at the scene, and a third male was transported to a local hospital where he is expected to survive.
It is believed that two male Hispanic suspects targeted the victim, the male juvenile. The suspects fired several rounds at the victim, striking him at least once in the upper torso. The male juvenile was pronounced dead at the scene.
While the suspects fled the location on foot, they were struck by gunfire by an unknown suspect. One of the suspects was pronounced dead, and the other was transported to a local hospital where he is expected to survive.
Two firearms were recovered by officers at the scene.
The investigation is still ongoing.
