Winter Storm Warning until 12:00PM Saturday

A storm system will bring a period of wintry precipitation starting late Friday afternoon in southeast Missouri and Friday evening in southern Illinois. While mixed precipitation is possible at the onset, a transition to mainly snow is expected through most of Friday night, when the heaviest snow accumulations are forecast. A transition to mainly rain from south to north is forecast Saturday morning as temperatures warm above freezing.

* WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze expected.

* WHERE...North of a line from near Anna to Carmi, Illinois.

* WHEN...From 3 PM Friday to noon CST Saturday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute.
