Winter Storm WARNING update
WINTER STORM WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO MIDNIGHT CST SATURDAY NIGHT...
* WHAT...Mainly heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of
6 to 9 inches, sleet accumulations of around 1/3 of an inch and
ice accumulations of a light glaze expected.
* WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Illinois.
* WHEN...From noon today to midnight CST Saturday night.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel could be very difficult. The
hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute.
Instructions:
A Winter Storm Warning means that heavy snowfall of 6 inches or
more is expected. The rapid accumulation of snow will make travel
extremely difficult, if not impossible. If travel is necessary,
make sure to exercise extreme caution. Begin your travel with a
full tank of gas, and carry a winter storm kit which includes a
shovel, flashlight, cellphone, food and water, and blankets of
extra warm clothing.
