Novato Police Investigating Fatal Traffic Collision
On January 18th, at approximately 6:06 p.m. the Novato Police Department received a report that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle in the 1500 block of South Novato Boulevard. Officers arrived on scene and discovered that an adult female had been struck by a vehicle traveling south bound on South Novato Boulevard near the entrance to the Novato Fair Shopping Center. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene and the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. The pedestrian is a 70 year old Novato resident.
The Novato Police Departments Major Accident Investigation Team assumed the investigation and is working in conjunction with the Marin County Coroner’s Office to determine the cause.
The Novato Police Department would like thank the community for their cooperation in avoiding the area during the road closure. The cause of the collision remains under investigation and witnesses are asked to contact the Novato Police Department’s Traffic Section at 415-897-4361.
