Two suspects are arrested for Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Aggravated Assault and Robbery

DATE/TIME: January 26, 2019/9:00 pm

INCIDENT: Robbery and Manufacturing Controlled Substances

LOCATION: 1000 Block of Lausanne Drive, in the community of Crestline

SUSPECTS: Anthony Huber, a 33-year-old resident of Crestline, John Chavez, a 34-year-old resident of Crestline, and Meisha Chavez, a 32-year-old resident of Crestline.

VICTIM(S): Confidential


SUMMARY: On Saturday, January 26, 2019, at approximately 9:00 pm, deputies from the Twin Peaks Sheriff's Station investigated an aggravated assault in the mountain community of Crestline. Responding deputies found the victim in the passenger seat of his own pickup truck, he had been beaten, kicked, and robbed. The victim sustained multiple facial fractures, a deep laceration on his head, and several contusions across his entire face. The victim was immediately transported to Arrowhead Regional Trauma Center for his injuries. The two suspects, John Chavez and Anthony Huber, were identified, questioned, and subsequently arrested for Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Aggravated Assault with Great Bodily Injury Likely to Produce Death, and Robbery. Huber and Chavez are being held on a $250,000 bail.

Deputies from the Twin Peaks Sheriff's Station returned to the residence the following day and served a search warrant at the residence. During the search warrant, deputies discovered a Butane Honey Oil Extraction Lab inside the residence, along with fourteen firearms, including a sub-machine gun, and over 2,900 rounds of live ammunition. Deputies were assisted by the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Marijuana Team who investigated the Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) Lab. Three small children were living at the residence and were taken into custody by Child Family Services. Meisha Chavez was arrested during the search warrant for Manufacturing a Controlled Substance and Child Endangerment. Meisha Chavez is being held on a $600,000 bail.
