Death Investigation at local assisted living facility 
In the early morning hours of January 26th Deputies with the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office responded to Bethesda Gardens located in southern Vigo County, in reference to a possible cardiac arrest. Honey Creek Fire Department and Transcare also responded to the scene. An elderly female resident was discovered outside of the building on the ground and apparently unresponsive. Upon Deputies arrival rescue personnel were tending to the female. The female resident identified as Veronica Hofman (75 years old) was pronounced dead at Regional Hospital. Investigation is ongoing.
