...Very cold air will impact the Ozarks by mid-week...
.A strong push of arctic air will dip into the region mid-week.
The coldest temperatures so far this winter with settle over the
Ozarks. As the coldest air moves into place, gusty winds will
yield wind chills of -10 degrees or lower by Wednesday morning.
...WIND CHILL WATCH IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY EVENING THROUGH
WEDNESDAY MORNING...
* WHAT...Dangerously cold wind chills possible. Wind chills between
10 and 20 below zero possible.
* WHERE...Portions of southeast Kansas and much of the Missouri
Ozarks in areas north of I-44.
* WHEN...From Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The cold wind chills could cause
frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Wind Chill Watch means there is the potential for a combination
of very cold air and the wind to create dangerously low wind
chill values. Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for
updates on this situation.
