Many people think that if they receive AMBER alerts, and/or the federal alerts, they are signed up to receive ALL emergency alerts. Did you know that in order to be better covered by LOCAL emergency alert notifications in Milpitas and Santa Clara County YOU NEED TO REGISTER WITH ALERTSCC?
Milpitas utilizes the Federal Emergency Alert System, but we also use AlertSCC as an effective means to communicate in an emergency. With AlertSCC you have to "opt-in", meaning, register yourself. As your City's Emergency Services Coordinator, I ask you to please register with AlertSCC for LOCAL emergency alert notifications.
