Deputies arrest Justin Keith for resisting arrest and assaulting a deputy

LOCATION: 33561 Yucaipa Blvd. (7-Eleven Convenience Store)
SUSPECT: Justin Warren Keith, 40-years-old, resident of Yucaipa
VICTIM: San Bernardino County Sheriff's Deputy
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 9:58 a.m., Yucaipa deputies responded to the 7-Eleven convenience store to investigate a report of a subject causing a disturbance. The suspect was known to deputies from prior calls.
Investigation showed Justin Keith was causing problems for a clerk in the store, had been asked to leave and refused to do so. Keith threatened the clerk, so she called the police.
When deputies arrived and told Keith to leave, he refused and became irate. When deputies attempted to detain Keith, he resisted and tried pulling away from deputies. Keith punched a deputy in the head. The deputies and Keith briefly fought and Keith was arrested.
The deputy and Keith both sustained minor injuries. Keith was arrested and booked into Central Detention Center.
