River Edge is committed to helping "at risk" residents during serious emergencies.   Approximately two years ago, River Edge embarked on an initiative to identify residents who potentially could be “at risk” during an emergency involving a protracted power loss in severe weather conditions, such as a blizzard.  The “At Risk” project started with a list of six residents.   Currently the list stands at seventy “at risk” residents.  However, rendering assistance requires knowing who needs help when precious moments count.  We are seeking assistance from family, friends, and neighbors in our quest to identify additional potential “at risk” residents.
 
While most residents will struggle through an emergency, some better than others, those identified as “at risk,” namely those of an advanced age and others with significant health issues, may need some assistance.  To that end, in a dire circumstance, River Edge will reach out to these identified “at risk” residents and provide the necessary assistance.
