...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY EVENING THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING...
The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a
* Flood Watch for portions of Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio,
including the following areas, in Indiana, Dearborn, Fayette
IN, Franklin IN, Ohio, Ripley, Switzerland, Union IN, and
Wayne. In Kentucky, Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Carroll,
Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Lewis, Mason, Owen, Pendleton, and
Robertson. In Ohio, Adams, Auglaize, Brown, Butler, Champaign,
Clark, Clermont, Clinton, Darke, Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette
OH, Franklin OH, Greene, Hamilton, Hardin, Highland, Hocking,
Licking, Logan, Madison, Mercer, Miami, Montgomery, Pickaway,
Pike, Preble, Ross, Scioto, Shelby, Union OH, and Warren.
* From Wednesday evening through Friday morning
* Periods of prolonged moderate to heavy rainfall will be found
across the region beginning Wednesday and ending Thursday night.
Rainfall of 2 to 3 inches will be common across much of the Ohio
Valley, with higher amounts found locally.
* Initial threats Wednesday night will be limited to flood-prone
areas. As the rain becomes more heavy and possibly trains over a
specific area or two on Thursday, other infrastructure not
typically involved with high water issues may become affected.
Lastly, rivers and streams will run high and likely out of
their banks as a result, and possibly for an extended period of
time.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
People in the watch area, especially those living in areas prone
to flooding, should be prepared to take action should flooding
develop. Monitor the latest forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings.
