...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO
4 AM CST TUESDAY...
* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of
up to one inch and ice accumulations of up to two tenths of an
inch expected.
* WHERE...Portions of northwest Indiana and north central and
northeast Illinois.
* WHEN...From 4 PM this afternoon to 4 AM CST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Strong westerly winds are expected to develop late
Tuesday and continue Tuesday night. These strong winds may
result in some blowing snow later Tuesday, as well as increase
the threat of power outages, especially for areas that see the
more significant ice accumulations.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The
hazardous conditions will likely impact a portion of this
evening's commute.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Expect slippery
roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
