SBPD Apprehend Violent Subject -- Leads to Tactical Search of Goleta Home

On February 13, 2019 at approximately 9:30 A.M., Detectives from the Santa Barbara Police Department and the Santa Barbara Sheriff Office located a wanted subject, 31-year-old Youvany Alvarez, a Goleta resident, who was driving in a stolen vehicle with two other individuals.

A high-risk stop was executed without incident. Numerous stolen property and narcotics were recovered from occupants of the stopped vehicle.

lvarez was both a wanted subject for three active warrants and is the suspect of several serious domestic violence acts that occurred in the City of Santa Barbara which include: kidnapping, domestic violence battery with injury, and stalking.

Later in the afternoon, the Santa Barbara Police Department conducted a tactical search of a Goleta residence in connection to Alvarez. The investigation remains ongoing and police personnel are processing additional evidence within the searched home.

Alvarez will be remanded to the Santa Barbara County Jail for misdemeanor and felony violations.
