* Flash Flood Warning for...
Northwestern Mariposa County in central California...
Southwestern Tuolumne County in northern California...
* Until 130 PM PST.
* At 1159 AM PST, Doppler radar indicated a line of thunderstorms
providing very heavy rain across the warned area. Radar estimated
half to three quarters of an per hour. Flash flooding is expected
to begin shortly.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Mariposa, Catheys Valley, Hetch Hetchy and Crane Flat.
Excessive rainfall over the Ferguson burn scar will result in debris
flow moving through the Merced river drainage. The debris flow can
consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
