Synopsis: A 22 year old female was driving N/B Vermont St. at University Ave. The female was driving a green, 2010 Jeep Wrangler. The female had a green traffic signal and was making a left turn onto W/B University Ave. A 37 year old male pedestrian was crossing southbound across University Avenue from the N/W corner. The pedestrian was in a marked crosswalk and had a green pedestrian signal. The driver failed to yield to the pedestrian and struck the pedestrian in the crosswalk. The pedestrian sustained a closed fracture of the left femur. The male was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his non-life threatening injuries. The driver remained at the scene. Alcohol or drugs are not considered to be a factor in this collision. SDPD Traffic Division officers will be conducting the investigation.
