Yellow Level Travel Advisory Issued for Unincorporated Areas of Hamilton County on Sunday, February 17
A yellow level Travel Advisory has been issued for unincorporated roads in Hamilton County, effective Sunday morning until further notice. This is the lowest level of local travel advisory and means that routine travel or activities may be restricted in areas because of a hazardous situation. Individuals should use caution or avoid those areas. Unincorporated roads are those roads maintained by Hamilton County, usually roads outside cities and towns.
The National Weather Service is forecasting snow throughout the day and this may create slick spots around the county. Use extra caution when traveling and if possible stay off the roads so street crews can clear snow from the pavement.
As a reminder with winter driving, reduce speeds, leave extra room between vehicles, make sure all windows are clear of snow and ice, turn on lights to increase visibility even during the day, and make sure to keep an emergency kit along with a fully charged cell phone handy. In case of a slide-off or crash contact Hamilton County Public Safety Communications at 317-773-1282 or 9-1-1 for an emergency.
