...FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT FROM THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH FRIDAY
AFTERNOON...

The Flood Watch is now in effect for

* Portions of Alabama and southern middle Tennessee, including
the following areas, in Alabama, Cullman, DeKalb, Jackson,
Limestone, Madison, Marshall, and Morgan. In southern middle
Tennessee, Franklin TN, Lincoln, and Moore.

* From Noon Today Through Friday afternoon

* Periods of moderate to heavy rain showers will begin to cause
flooding problems Today. The heaviest rain will occur this
afternoon through Wednesday evening. Additional heavy showers
and a few thunderstorms are expected Thursday night through
Saturday night. Additional rain totals of 4 to 5 inches are
expected through Saturday night, with locally higher amounts
possible. Surface soil conditions are saturated and much of this
rainfall will occur as runoff. Many of the local rivers and
streams are expected to go into flood as a result.

* Residents should make preparations now if they live in a flood
prone area. This Flood Watch may need to be extended into the
weekend.

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

Instructions:

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
